"Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him." Ps 62:5 For whom are you waiting? How will your needs be met today and where will you go tomorrow? What will you do when you get there? What is the "right" decision regarding your job situation? These questions, I think you'll agree, represent the thoughts that flood our mind daily, perhaps even minute by minute. We, as Christians, have the "blessed hope" of the imminent return of Jesus to take us home. There will then be no doubt as to what's the right thing to do for we will be with Him all the time. But until then, we "wait" on the Lord to show us - to lead us. And what does "wait on the Lord" mean? David knew everything was in God's hand and under His control. He also had confidence that God would never forsake him or leave him. He had a firm trust that what he needed would be supplied when he needed it at the time he needed it. David "relaxed" in that position. Though he frequently took control from God, David was quick to ask forgiveness and ask God to take over once again. Today, we can find peace by "waiting" on God. Most of our past problems and heartaches can probably be traced back to a time where we took over and asked God to step aside. Granted, we might later give up when we became frustrated and tired. But many people continue to race for "their" goals without regard for what God wants. "Waiting on God" doesn't mean looking for a supernatural sign, but rather repeating three steps over and over and over again:
We know that God delights in those who trust him and seek Him in everything (Ps 9:10) and delighting God seems like a worthy goal, doesn't it? Just Thinkin'.. WebServant "Those who "hope in" the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Isa 40:31 ("hope in" is rendered "wait on" in the King James Version)
