Over the past 27 years, we have seen 40 million + babies lose their lives before even having the chance to live. And some of those babies were murdered right before their little heads came out of their mother's birth canal, through a procedure that has been labeled, partial-birth abortion Three of the standing United States Supreme Court Justices are slated to retire from the Court very shortly, already having voted this summer to allow partial-birth abortion to continue. By the appointment of three new Justices in the term of the next President, this year's election will no doubt determine the direction that our country will go in for at least the next 30 to 50 years. The majority of the current justices believe that the meaning of the Constitution can be interpreted to fit their own political agendas. On the other hand, a minority of them feel the intent of the Constitution is to protect the unborn, but are unable to impress the others by their own conviction. "There is a glaring inconsistency all too common in the Church today. When it comes to politics, we often behave as if God acts alone to put His candidates into office. But when it comes to evangelism, God suddenly becomes unable to accomplish His purposes without the sacrificial cooperation of the congregation. We must not tolerate this illogical, contradictory, unbiblical thinking in the Church. If we do, our nation is in deep trouble". (1) November 7th is the day each American can vote his/her conviction. We have already seen a huge majority of Americans are not concerned with the intention of the founding fathers who made sure the Constitution was free of political intent. For 40Days many are praying and fasting for our elected leaders, whoever they may be. Each day we focus on a different virtue for our leaders. I cannot and will not attempt to influence anyone to vote for a particular man. God ordains those who lead us and regardless who wins the election, that man deserves the prayerful support of each American. But God never intended His people to be forced to violate their godly convictions. Neither does He intend for them to become an unruly mob trying to forcibly reverse issues through intimidation and threat. Daniel and his friends had the right response to a ruler and his government leading God's people to sin: Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to the king, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up." Dan 3:16-18 The conviction of the Hebrew children took them into the furnace. We had better make sure we are people of character as well as conviction; Even if You can't create godly character in anyone else God, create it in me. Just Thinkin'.. WebServant
