Read the Bible through in OneYear

A man who has failed, yet lived to regain his honor is more to be trusted than one who admits no failure, yet shows no honor.

In Acts 8:1 we learn than Paul was consenting to the death of Stephen. In Acts 9:1 we see that Paul was breathing murderous threats against the Lord's disciples. Then, in the last last verse of the book of Acts, we learn how Paul spent his time after his conversion:

"Boldly and without hindrance he preached the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ." Acts 28:31 (The "lack of hindrance", however, was seldom enjoyed by Paul)

Trustworthiness is what we say of people who have proven they can deal with failure without giving up. Such men and women demonstrate unusual tenacity when it comes to adjusting to life's disappointments. When others give up and "throw in the towel", the faithful find courage and determination to keep going.

In a world full of lust of the eyes, flesh and pride of life (1 John 2:16), it only natural that most people are attracted to those who are popular, wealthy and "beautiful". Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to find people with those attirbutes who are worthy of trust. So, what is it that gives a man inner strength to get up, the desire to brush themselves off and keep going after they have experienced personal tragedy and disappointment?

We know that God's grace is afforded those who are His children (Jas 4:6). We also know that God not only leads His children, but encourages them to never give up hope (John 14). It's almost like God helps us up when we fall down. God is so very trustworthy, is He not?   Just Thinkin'.. WebServant

"The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day. But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble." Pro 4:18,19
