Read the Bible through in OneYear

Job was a man that pleased God. We know that because God bragged on Job to Satan and that prompted Satan to question Job's faith and God's motive. The book of Job, is the account of Satan's attack on a man to prove he served God only because of God's favor.

"Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil." Job 1:8

Satan applied pressure to Job by taking away everything dear to Job, and after it was all said and done, Job's action demonstrated the response of an humble man:

"At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship and said: Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised. In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing." Job 1:20-22

They say a man's character is revealed in no better way than through the fire. In fact, Job made that declaration: "But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold." Job 23:10 We can conclude that Job passed his test with flying colors. About some of us, I'm just not sure.

There are THREE wrong responses of a person who has been accused:

  1. Blame others for your problem
  2. Defend yourself
  3. Hold in your anger

But there is only ONE right response of the humble:

  1. Thank God for the problem and ask him to help you make it through.
