Read the Bible through in OneYear

Today, pundits all across the United States are analyzing the results of yesterday's presidential election. It is said that this is the first time that a US President will be elected by a few hundred absentee votes yet to be counted.

Political analysts are frustrated because they've been unable to predict the election outcome by sampling the opinion of voters leaving the polls. Early this morning, the media even declared one candidate a victor, prompting a concession from one candidate which later was retracted.

Christians have been praying in the last few days and weeks, asking God for mercy by virtue of our nation's sin and obvious direction. Any way a person looks at this election, it doesn't take much spiritual discernment to realize this is a pivotal event of end-time proportion. The battle lines are drawn and spiritual warfare is occurring NOW and through the rest of this week.

Of note, is the fact that one Vice Presidential candidate has dual citizenship in the US and Israel with some opposing views to his Presidential running mate. The other Vice Presidential candidate was the highest officer in the Gulf War against Iraq. It is expected that his officers in that military campaign could have high positions of government if that candidate wins the election.

The morning news from the Middle East has reminded us that the conflict over the Temple Mount in Jerusalem is approaching a "critical" mass. The fight for sovereignty between Abraham's descendants over that small, sacred plot of land is raging. Violence increases by the moment by virtue of the religious and patriotic passion of the people.

While finishing this devotional thought, I received a telephone call from a Christian friend telling me they had the same word from God that I did. That word is that now is the time for God's people to pray. He is looking for someone to stand in the gap on behalf of America, asking that He not allow it to fall victim to its own evil schemes.

Will God find you in the gap today? If not, I'm asking God to "open" you eyes, revealing the angels with drawn swords encircling our nation holding back the forces of evil. When you see it, no one will have to tell you what to do.    Just Thinkin'.. WebServant
