Today - November 12, 2000, we celebrate Veteran's Day in the USA. France celebrates Armistice Day and Canada, Remembrance Day. When one contemplates the sacrifice of those men and women who purchased the freedom we today enjoy, it should make us grateful. It seems only natural then, that we hold a free national election a few days prior and Thanksgiving Day a few days later. We exercise our freedom on Election Day and thank those who defended our country on Veteran's Day. Then, on Thanksgiving Day we thank God who makes it all possible. May we all pay homage to those who deserve it and may we live like people with grateful spirits. I believe in the United States of America as a government of the people, by the people, for the people, whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign Nation of many sovereign States; a perfect Union, one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes. I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it, to support its Constitution, to obey its laws, to respect its flag, and to defend it against all enemies. "The American's Creed", by William Tyler Page "The Lord foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples. But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance." Psalm 33:10-12
