Recently we, as Americans were stunned as we watched the national election for President of the United States. As media pundits did a minute by minute flip-flop on their projection of a winner on November 7, two of the candidates effectively split 100 million votes. Now, after 23 days, we still don't know what the exact margin of victory that separates one man from the other. When the machines had processed all the votes of some states, many declared winners were effectively determined by the outcome of absentee votes alone, which were counted last. On television, sections of the country have been color coded on a map to indicate regional support for a particular candidate. If one thing can be determined from this, it is the fact that our country is separated by opinion. So it is. One man has been narrowly certified to become the next President and the other is contesting the election results. Either man can claim a mandate of 50 million voters but the other can make the same claim. It's easy to see why things are unsettling in regard to our nation's future. The child of God would know that this is a sure sign of things to come. Scripture tells us that things will increasingly become more uncertain as we approach the Time of Jacob's Trouble, the last 3-1/2 years of the Tribulation. (Cp: Daniel 12; 1 Thes 5; 2 Thes 2) Isn't it good to know that one thing is sure. That one thing is the truth of God's Word, which will never change nor will its truth be diluted by any argument or vote of man. Thank You, Lord! Just Thinkin'.. WebServant "All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field. The grass withers and the flowers fall; because the breath of the Lord blows on them. Surely the people are grass. The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stand forever." Isa 40:6b-8
