Have you ever realized that you can have prayer without church but you can't have church without prayer. The first church was consumed by their desire to pray. Acts tells us that the disciples spent substantive time on their knees before God; "They all joined together constantly in prayer" Acts 1:14. Keyword = constantly. The very next meeting of the church resulted in 3,000 baptisms. (Cp: Acts 2:41) John Wesley joined George Whitfield to preach to the multitudes outside the walls of the church of England. Their actions affected untold thousands of people in both Britain and America. But John Wesley was converted later under the influence of a group of praying Germans called Moravians. As the Moravians prayed, God gave them a passion for the world which in turn became their great mission. God planned a divine encounter for Wesley as he traveled to America. Aboard a sailing ship, Wesley met the Moravians and heard their prayers in the face of a near disaster at sea. He was deeply touched by the Holy Spirit as the Moravians prayed and upon his return to England, Wesley attended the prayer meetings of the Moravians. The result of a small group of Germans praying for souls, a spark was created in Wesley who then lit a fire for God that today has reached around the globe to touch thousands upon thousands of people for God. Have you ever prayed asking God to use you in a way that pleases Him? Who knows but God has planned a divine encounter in your life that will ultimately set you on fire for him. The largest fire begins with a spark. I'd say a revival spark comes as a result of seeking God constantly in prayer. Just Thinkin'.. WebServant
