Tomorrow, we begin a 5-part series called, Dealing with Strongholds. We will use the Canaanites and their influence on God's people in the Old Testament as our object lesson. From it, we, as Christians, can learn how to deal with the devil, our Adversary, and overcome his attempts to defeat us. WebServant INTRODUCTION Additionally, strongholds built around sin breed more sin, which in turn separates us from fellowship with God and even prevents our prayers from being answered. With this in mind, it's surprising that anyone would ever allow sin to take up residence in his or her heart. But that's exactly what happens all to often. When God convicts us of sin, He does so in order for us to have victory over it. But, when we disregard God's warning and don't deal with sin, we grieve the Holy Spirit. It is then that sin affects other areas of our life, such as our relationships. When that happens, others are likely to suffer with us. If you're expecting God to do a work in your life and restore the joy of your salvation, begin with "baby" steps. Your first step is to listen to what God says and your second step is to do it. These steps are fundamental to your success as a Christian. Do you desire revival? Do you want to be Spirit-filled? Then learn what Adam learned in the Garden; you can't hide from God and expect to prosper. Learn from Saul's mistake and realize that God's eyes are penetrating - even to the deepest part of your being where strongholds exist as a byproduct of your neglect. Just Thinkin'...
