"The officers shall say to the army, 'has anyone built a new house and not dedicated it? Let him go home, or he may die in battle and someone else may dedicate it'". Deuteronomy 20:5 No doubt, the dedication of something is a privilege granted to an owner. While there are many things in life that come and go without concern, other things lead us to make a statement regarding their ownership and ultimate purpose. But, did you know that ownership creates anxiety? That's right, ownership leads to worry. Aren't we concerned about our stuff? Where is it; is it safe; is it vulnerable to theft or vandals. If it's broke, will I be able to fix it and if it's stolen, will I be able to replace it? For the child of God, life is better if we own nothing, but render all our possessions to God. Then we are able to treat them as something belonging to him. We take care of it because it belongs to him, but we don't worry about it should it fall into someone else's hands. It belongs to God and should he want someone else to have it, they can come get it. Have you dedicated your possessions to God? Have you surrendered the title of ownership to him? You'll find certain peace that comes when you do that. But, if you find that too difficult, just remember that Scripture says we won't take anything with us when we die. So, maybe we should learn to hold "things" lightly. Just Thinkin'... WebServant
