"It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth". Acts 1:7-8 On this day in 1991, Mount Pinatubo in the Philippines erupted for 1st time in 600 years taking many lives and disrupting the ozone layer of the earth for years. Unexpected? Yes, but not totally. Those living in close proximity to volcanoes, active or not, take their chances with possible eruptions. For a while occupants find great benefit using the enriched soil to farm around these potential time bombs of nature. But when they are ready to blow, you'd better get out of the way or you might wind up as mulch for future generations. Yes, man has created powerful weapons with which he constantly take us to the edge of disaster at the hands of a handful of power hungry individuals. But man hasn't seen power until he has seen nature released. And it's not just volcanoes that threaten destruction beyond imagination. The energy released by a large earthquake one is equal to that released by 200 million tons of dynamite. That is 10,000 times more powerful than was expended at the detonation of the first atomic bomb. Around the world in dormant expectancy quakes lie just under the soil of the earth waiting for the right time to demonstrate such power. It's not that earthquakes might happen; we know they will happen; it's just a matter of time. Avoiding a volcano is easy enough. But, where will you go to hide from an earthquake? In reality, there is no place to hide from either. The very atmosphere that protects us from dangerous rays of the sun, is diminished somewhat when a volcano erupts. And can earthquakes move mountains and shift landmasses, swallowing up everything in its path and changing the landscape you call home. But the most powerful of all forces known to man is the Holy Spirit living in the very heart of a believer. Jesus ascended to heaven in front of his disciples and told them such power can transform every tribe of man in all parts of the earth if they are faithful to witness of what they have seen in Jesus. So, believer.. Are you like an active volcano for Jesus or are you dormant, waiting for your life to pass without ever once erupting in testimony to the King of kings? Or, are you like an earthquake, waiting for something to prompt you to witness for the Lord? Just Thinkin'... WebServant
