"You keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you." Isa. 26:3 Even the youngest Christian can quote Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. But, what does it mean to truly trust the Lord? The prophet Isaiah said that a person trusting God steadfastly would be kept by God in perfect peace. We know that peace comes in two varieties: first, there is peace with God (Php 4:7) and then there is the peace of God. (vs. 9) The first kind of peace comes when we pray; the second peace comes when we put into practice what we've learned from the word of God. Maybe a better question is how can you trust in someone you don't really know. After all, if knowing God comes by reading God's word and spending time with him in prayer, but you're doing neither... Well, I guess we know why some people aren't steadfast and have no peace, don't we? Just Thinkin'... WebServant
