"Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, O God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your might to all who are to come." Psalm 71:18 How important is your life in the eternal scheme of things? When you were young, you may have doubted that anything beyond the present moment was important. But then, as you matured, you probably sought to know your place in God's design. King David had every reason to live for the moment during the time he sat on the throne of Israel. He spoke and people bowed, he acted and nations trembled. But, as he aged and saw his strength and influence diminish, David began to think about his legacy. David must have wondered what would his children do after he died. Would their lives honor God? Had he been faithful in teaching his children God's Word and demonstrating the right way to live according to its principles? It shouldn't be this way, but all too often, don't we only care about what's important in life when we're faced with losing it. Does that describe you? Why not be like David and consider the value of preparing for the future while there's still time to do something about it. Just Thinkin'... WebServant
