"Make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold. Put the altar in front of the curtain that is before the ark of the Testimony - before the atonement cover that is over the Testimony - where I will meet with you." Exodus 30:5-6 God revealed the specifications of the Tabernacle to Moses along with specific instructions as to how to erect it, use it break it down and transport it. Read from chapter 20 of Exodus to the end of the book and you'll be amazed at the meticulous details of this movable structure. Note the last six words of verse six and you'll find the most amazing feature of this wilderness worship center, "I will meet you there." It wasn't just a place to offer sacrifices and pray. God told Moses that He would meet him there. Forty years later, the children of Israel entered the promised land, conquered the cities and occupied the land. Then, approximately six hundred years later a man named David prepared to build a permanent place of worship for God in the holy city of Jerusalem. His son, Solomon would fulfill his father's vision when the tabernacle was upgraded to an amazing temple built in the region of mount Moriah. Today the temple constructed by the people of God is gone, as well as the altar of incense and the articles of worship that made worship possible; they're all gone. So, where does God dwell since the ark of the Testimony is not to be found? John said, "The Word became flesh and lived for a while among us." The phrase, "became flesh" literally means tabernacled. (Jo 1:14) Paul spoke of Christians when he said, "To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory." (Col 1:27) Paul expounded on this amazing blessing when he said, "Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance." If you're a believer, you should rejoice that God no longer dwells in a tent or a structure of brick and mortar built by man. Rejoice that you are the temple of the living God - God dwells in us through his Spirit and makes us a holy place of worship 24/7. Are you a place of worship where the Holy Spirit whispers, "I am here to meet with you." If so, thank God for having greater privilege than the Israelites or any other people who have come before you. Just Thinkin'... WebServant
