Read the Bible through in OneYear

"See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ." Colossians 2:8

As humans, we understand worldly principles. Scripture calls them tendencies of "natural" man (Rom 8:5). But as Christians, we live according to the Holy Spirit and are controlled by Him. What else is different between a natural and spiritual man?

The world's philosophy is pleasing to the world, but God's Word is based on what pleases God, not our ears. Yes, the world would have us believe our words should never divide or offend. But Scripture tells us that truth comes in black and white. If you're offended by it, you must change, not expect the Truth to change!

No doubt, the world views truth as something like a sliding scale with shades of gray - without black or white! Today, any person trying to avoid offend someone might choose to use political correctness. Today, the world assumes every person's opinion is worthy of consideration, even when it is based on the most vile and wicked spirit of moral degradation. According to His Word, God does not!

Should we try to avoid offending someone even though their opinion might be based on something contrary to truth according to God's Word? The world thinks so with one exception. The world openly condemns those who disagree with their philosophy. In view of the fact that civic authority leans toward worldly philosophy, it will not doubt provide justification the world to persecute Christians that will only increase as time goes by.

Today, I am pleased to announce that truth has not depreciated because of the refusal of some people to acknowledge or receive it.
