"After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he said. Then they believed..." John 2:22

Isn't that the way it always is? It seems to take someone's death to make us value them and their testimony. Jesus had a lot of naysayers and a lot of religionists contradicting everything he said and did. It's no surprise then, that they didn't believe Jesus. But what about those who walked and talked with him for three years? The Bible says they came to really consider and believe some things Jesus said after he had died, come out of the grave and ascended to heaven.

I wonder how many times in his life Jesus spoke directly to his followers and saw them looking back at him in a "I'm somewhere else right now" daze? Some of us experience this phenomenon when we talk to our kids. It's not enough that they act like they don't hear us; they then ask us a question we just answered.

One disciple wanted up close and personal evidence of Jesus' resurrection before he would accept it as fact. Jesus told him later, "Thomas, because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." (Jo 20:29)

Have you heard truth from the pulpit this week and failed to act on it? Been encouraged to do something in ministry but another week has passed and you're already considering your excuse for next week? Solomon said in the grave where you're going, you'll not have opportunity to procrastinate again. (Ecc 9:10)

Many a person has stood in front of a casket wishing they had told their loved one something while they were still alive. Sadly, they must now live with regret for the rest of their life. That conversation might have taken a one-minute phone call; now it will echo off the walls of their mind for a lifetime. They're ready to talk now, but the person who needs to hear it can't do so.

Is there something you need to do? Redeem the time, friend. Remember: Dead noses smell no roses. Why not do it while they're still on the ground and not under it.
