"Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care." 1 Peter 5:2 The Lord Jesus called every believer a "sheep," a wayward creature that needs help doing most everything except sleeping and eating. A bunch of sheep comprise a flock every flock needs a shepherd. Jesus talked about a lost sheep that was important enough to Him that He leave the 99 to search for that one sheep. In the church today, there are many shepherds, teachers, pastors, evangelists, encouragers, etc. Let us not forget that caring for the flock is not optional and requires the cooperation of many people working together in order to keep them safe and out of harm's way. As a Christian, you have a Chief Shepherd (Big "S"). His name is Jesus. But, do you know your shepherd (little "S")? Just Thinkin'...
