"What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun." Ecclesiastes 1:9 Millions of people this year will submit an application for a patent on what they believe is a new invention. But for most of them, they'll be disappointed to learn their idea is not new. Still, even though their idea is not new, they will claim something about their idea is unique enough to deserve recognition and engage a professional patent researcher to validate or discard their claim. Even though few inventors are granted a patent for a new idea, patents are still awarded everyday. However, having a patent doesn't mean a person makes money for their invention. Someone has to see the value of their idea or process and buy the rights to use it hoping someone else will pay for it. In Numbers 16:30, Moses claimed that God would show the people something "totally" new in order to validate his own authority. After Korah and those around him fell into a hole God opened up beneath them, there were few doubters in that crowd. Everyone listened to what Moses said after that. Solomon lived three thousand years ago and claimed then there was nothing new under the sun. Of course, we now know he was wrong; it just seemed that way. Later, Philip went to Samaria and proclaimed the Gospel. Scripture says the people heard his testimony and saw the miraculous signs he did (something new) and paid close attention to what he said. (Acts 8:4-6) Are you experiencing God's newness in your life or is your life full of the same old things you've come to expect? Is God's power surrounding your life or are you talking to yourself? People may hear you, but are they interested in what you have to say? Maybe you need some of those signs and wonders the apostles demonstrated. You got it! Today we have the Holy Spirit, or should I say, He has us, or at least He wants to have us! Bottom line: there is no single greater sign and wonder since creation than the Holy Spirit living in us. But is His message getting through the veneer or our life? You can't get a patent for it, but God in us - the hope of glory, is the greatest power source ever, and it's all ours - if we allow God to live through us today. We can't get and keep people's attention, but the Spirit can! Just Thinkin'... WebServant
