"You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is the world." 1 John 4:4

If you are saved today, it's because you found hope in Jesus - the mighty tower of refuge, when you faced great peril. Through Him, you overcame the curse of sin that threatened to keep you captive for eternity. But, your Savior faced death and the grave and victoriously walked right over them on his way to assuming his rightful place at God's right hand. Because of who Jesus is, we have no reason to fear death and the grave; Jesus is victorious, therefore we are too! Hallelujah!

Today however, you may not feel victorious. Even though you take comfort in future victory over death, today you must face the author of sin who is still waging war against you. He knows the war is over, but is nevertheless waging war against you.

In John 17:15, the apostle recorded the words of Jesus who prayed for those he left behind: "My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one." Later he reminds us that God is answering the prayer of his Son. God will protect us! Thank You, Father - in Jesus' Name!

Feeling is a funny thing, for it has absolutely no relativity to fact. The fact is that today Christians stand victorious in Jesus' blood and righteousness regardless of how they feel. Since we're winners, perhaps we need to voice that fact in praise to him. Tell him right now - wherever you are in spoken praise, "Thank you God for making me victorious in Jesus. Help me today to live like I've overcome and not been overrun."
