"Once when Jesus was praying in private and his disciples were with him, he asked, 'Who do the crowds say that I am?'" Luke 9:215

If Jesus was praying privately and the disciples were with him, what's that about? How do you pray in private when others are "with" you? So you know, private prayer is but one of "all kinds of prayer" listed in Ephesians 6:18. That happens when you go into your inner sanctuary to worship becoming oblivious to what's going on around you.

Note that Paul in Ephesians gives one very important piece of advice when exercising your "private" prayer muscles. "Be alert!" Jesus was alert when he asked the disciples his question. If you like to pray while driving a vehicle, understand that private prayer doesn't require you to close you eyes. It does however require that you are alert or you may find people standing around you asking if you're all right.
