"Up to this moment, we have become the scum of the earth, the refuse of the world." 1 Corinthians 4:13

You are a priceless treasure, bought with the blood of the Son of God. You are loved and nurtured by the Almighty El Shaddai, the Creator and Completor of all things. That being said, on this side of heaven you are someone else's trash.

That's right: If you're a Christian, the world will make fun of you, use and abuse you, wad you up into a ball and throw you into the garbage can, compact you with the rest of the useless stuff, throw you outside, strike a match and try to set you ablaze.

But to whom are you going to listen? I choose to regard what God thinks of me and not what the world thinks. After all, if I really cared what the world thought about me, I might get a complex and feel inferior. You talking about a child of the King and heir to His kingdom here. That includes this world, everything under it, on it and above it. (Php 2:9-11; Gal 4:7) I'd say that's not bad for a scum-ball.
