"Many will go here and there to increase knowledge". Daniel 12:4

Daniel is known as the end-time prophet who foretold of many things that we have yet to see in our generation. But perhaps this simple prophecy toward the end of his writing is the most profound.

Never in the history of the world has education been regarded as highly as it is now. No longer does a high school graduate consider a local qualified college adequate, but will consider a similar college hundreds, perhaps thousands of miles from home more advantageous. Like a degree giving them wisdom by default, many students will spend twenty-five or more years of their life in school. Think about it: if they live to be fifty years old, they would have spent half their life in a classroom, listening to an instructor.

It's also amazing that parent(s) of college students take pride in how far their kids traveled and how much money their education cost like it was some kind of badge of honor. While it's true that knowledge is good, it's amazing how many educated fools are walking around. But it doesn't stop there, our quest for knowledge and understanding extends beyond the boundary of a formal education.

You might be a student and if so, you should work hard at getting the best grades you can get. But understand the purpose for gaining knowledge is to gain understanding and become disciplined in the application of it. But should you gain more degrees than a thermometer and never know God, you are a fool.

With all your knowledge, don't forget that wisdom comes from God and not from a liberal arts college that is accredited. Anyone who trusts God's word (The Holy Bible) and believes God is able to do what he has promised has an accreditation from God as being righteous. They may have never graduated from school but in God's eyes, they are the only ones who received a proper education. (Ro 4:21-22)
