"Blessed are those who keep my ways." Proverbs 8:32b Knowing God's way should not be confused with knowing God's will. We pray to know God's will but nevertheless, many times find ourselves on the wrong side of it. As for his will, that's revealed to anyone reading the Bible, who under the teaching ministry of the Holy Spirit, understand how God operates. No doubt, we are truly blessed when we understand how God works. But simply knowing how God operates doesn't give us a pass on understanding his will. Consider these people who knew how God worked, but had no clue as to understanding God's will. First, there was Judas. You know him as the deceiver who turned in Jesus' location for thirty pieces of silver. Next, the disciples fled for the hills when Jesus was captured. Only one of them would even make it to the crucifixion to stand with Jesus' mother. Finally, there was Peter who stood by the fire and refused to associate himself with Jesus when he was being used and abused by a bunch of threatened legalists. All the disciples knew Jesus personally, had been personally educated by the King of Kings himself and were given power to see God's work through human eyes. But each of these men failed to keep God's way. Blessed? I think not! If anything they were tormented by their failure for the rest of their lives. Have you found yourself changing your mind about following Jesus? Maybe, you are so timid to witness for Jesus, it actually borders on cowardly in the face of battle. Or have you professed to be a Christian and follow Jesus anywhere, but then never showed up for work? (I usually listen to Christian praise and worship music while I write these devotions. The song, "It is Finished," written by Bill Gaither just played and what a great way to end this day's devotional thought.) Friend, are you still a prisoner of war to an enemy who has no hold on you? Finish the race. Complete what you started. Don't run, hide or give up. You know what to do: keep your eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of your faith and keep moving till you run into the Lord on the way. Just Thinkin'... WebServant 1. Developed from Read
