Job's losses were such that thoughts of dying and giving up on this life were nagging at him. Given that his friends had no clue what was really going on between God and Satan, they didn't offer sound counsel either. However, Job's mourning would end and he would prevail, but his question is one every man considers. Will I live again after I die? Were it not for Paul, we'd have very little knowledge of the after life. But he dealt with Job's question many times; the 15th chapter of 1 Corinthians being perhaps the most amazing. "Behold, I show you a mystery." How many times have you stood at a graveside and heard those reassuring words. Yes, there is life after death and for the Christian, the thought of it is the stuff of which dreams are made. Some question Paul's teaching of the Rapture, but he couldn't be clearer: some will not die but be changed into heavenly form while still living and breathing. I trust you've made the decision of your life. That decision is to recognize and accept the lordship of Jesus and receive the gift of salvation that comes through knowing Him as your personal Savior. For then you will view the life after death as something to treasure. If not and should you die in that condition, the afterlife, while it is eternal, will not be glorious, but horrible. Are you saved? You might want to perform a personal checkup to be certain. If you're saved, then rejoice in the fact that death will be beautiful. Otherwise, you may want to get a life makeover before you die. Jesus is the only One who can do that. He's patient and long-suffering, that is until you die lost, then you'll have to deal with your choice for the rest of your death.
