Yet
what is due me is in the Lord's hand, and my reward is with my God.

The magician held a coin in one hand and then put his hands behind his back. He then extended both his hands in front of him and and asked someone to pick the hand in which he had the coin. The first person picked the left hand and the magician turned it over revealing nothing. The next person thought it would be an easy pick now, so he selected the other hand. But to his amazement, it too was empty. Then the trickster reached behind the ear of the second person and pulled the coin from behind his ear, or at least it seemed that way. It's amazing that we treat God like a magician who hides things from us. All too often, we blindly fall into the trap of thinking God expects us to guess where he has hidden our blessing. This even though he promises to show us great and mighty things to us. (Jer 33:3) But there's something else just as amazing. Millions of Christians act like the world offers things of lasting value. We've fallen in the trap of looking in the wrong place if that's what we do. When the slick trickster known as the devil seemingly pull something from behind our ear, we'll always find it something that belongs to us anyway and not to him. Do you feel obliged to the devil for what you think he's done for you? Get over it. If you're a child of God, then you belong to him, not Satan. You were purchased at a price with the blood of God's Son, so stop acting like you owe the devil anything for playing magician with you.
