I don't know about you, but I'm eternally thankful for the fact God never changes His mind. The writer of Hebrews quotes from Psalm 110:4 when he states God's promise to do exactly what he said He would do. Recently in a political campaign, one person running for office was noted for changing his position on issues. When questioned on the matter, he would most often say, "I have a plan." But when asked to give details, he would not. On another occasion, he was asked if he thought it was a good idea for his opponent to respond aggressively to a terrorist attack the way he did. The candidate with a straight face said, "It depends on how it turns out!" Every student having ever taken a science course in school knows that results come after action, not before it. It's impossible for us to know the results of our action before we take it. If we waited for results we'd never do anything. But our God doesn't withhold action. In His word we learn what He said and we are a living testimony that He always does exactly what He promises He will do. In Psalms 106 we are reminded that the Israelites were saved from the raging water of the Red Sea. They crossed in safety while those who chased them were destroyed. Verse 12 says, "THEN they believed his promises and sang His praise." I trust you've given your heart to the Lord and trust Him as your Savior. If so, don't be like the Israelites and wait to see the results before praising God. Why not learn to thank Him for results before you see them. How else will God ever know you really trust Him?
