Daniel wrote of the End Times, a coming day when God's chosen people Israel, come out of extreme persecution and are redeemed. Daniel tells us that God has written their names in a book. Because their names are recorded there, they will be privy to eternal life, guest of the Lord of Lords, the King of Kings, Jesus Christ.

Whoa... Weren't the Jews the ones who crucified Jesus two thousand years ago? Yes they are. And aren't the Jews the ones who enter the period called the Time of Jacob's Trouble, or the Great Tribulation, as a result of that rejection? Yes they are. And haven't those same Jews dispised or irgnored Jesus as Messiah generation after generation? Yes they have. But God's never goes against His word. He said He would redeem his people and that's exactly what He will do.

In Revelation chapter 20, we read that there are other books used by God. In the Book of Life for example, the names of the redeemed of all ages, not just that of the Jews, is recorded. During our life we have the opportunity to receive the Holy Spirit when we place our faith in Jesus Christ. When that happens, our name is written down in the book.

In the future, an angel will read the Book of Life and should the name of those who are dead be found, they will join the redeemed before the throne of God. Those whose name are not found however, will be judged for their sin and sentenced to spend eternity in hell, forever separated from God and the redeemed of the Lord.

I have one question for you since your life might end before morning. Is your name written in the Book of Life? If not, I wonder how many people will unsuccessfully plead with the angel who doesn't find their name in the Book of Life by saying, "I intended to do it!"
