Joseph was sold by his brothers to the Ishmaelites of Midian who in turn sold him to Potiphar in Egypt who served Pharaoh as one of his officials. Joseph was later made Prince and convinced his family who were living in Canaan to come live in Egypt under his protection. But after Joseph died, the Israelites who had grown to well over a million people became indentured slaves to Egyptians under the next Pharaoh. If all this makes you dizzy, consider Moses main objective in leading the people out of Egypt. It had become a place they called home after Joseph died. It was a place that used to mean plenty and privilege, but had become a work camp where every Jew worked to build religious structures for a pagan king to his pagan gods. All of them groaned without knowing how to pray. And God heard them. Moses, like Joseph was also a Jew placed in a position of authority in Pharaoh's court. However, he did not protect the Israelites but left Egypt after killing an Egyptian fleeing, you guessed it, back to Midian. After living there forty years, Moses was called back to Egypt in order to lead God's people out of Egypt and back in to Canaan. Maybe you've learned how to pray in a way the Spirit groans for you. There's no class taught to teach you how to do it. Paul said the Holy Spirit is able to hear your wordless prayer and then He groans on your behalf before the Father. Ro 8: 26-27) Have you heard the Spirit groan?
