Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
2 Corinthians 3:17

We celebrate freedom today in the United States of America as we recall our Declaration of Independence signed by our nation's founding fathers on this day in 1776. We as citizens of the US, still welcome most anyone into our family who comes to our shore in order to escape tyranny, persecution or simply to find a better way of life.

The words of our founding document was not heard by the average citizen until four days later, when the Liberty bell rang in Philadelphia to call people to come hear it read aloud. On the bell still today reads the words of Leviticus 25:10, "Proclaim liberty throughout the land unto all the inhabitants thereof." Regardless of the spin of the media and liberal politicians, our nation was built on Scriptural principles and exists today for the single reason Christians have prayed and interceded for her from her birth.

We hold these truths to be self-evident: - that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Freedom sounds cheap, but its not something everyone is able to handle. Far too many have viewed it as liberty or license to sin with impunity. And as a result, they've created a cancer within our country that has influenced our nation to place its integrity and sovereignty on the auction block for sale to the highest bidder.

Built on the foundation of God's word, the United States of America is strong today for one reason; the Creator has blessed the church of Jesus Christ. Few nations with the power of the US have lived to see their 200th birthday. If you're a believer and call yourself an American, I trust you'll renew your commitment with me today to pray for our nation and against any force that attempts to infect her like cancer - from without or within.
