He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.
Titus 3:5a

I don't know about you, but I often wonder why God loves me. After all, there are so many other people who seem more deserving than me. Now that I've said that, I confess how that statement is so radically contrary to Scripture. God's love is not parsed out to those who deserve it, but showered on anyone who calls on Jesus' name and is saved. I for one, am eternally grateful for God's purpose that includes me.

Isaiah told us much of God's purpose. In verse 24, chapter 14 for example, he said "Surely, as I have planned so it will be, and as I have purposed it will stand." In this same chapter where the prophet revealed the conflict that cast Satan and other disobedient angels out of heaven and down to earth, he stated that no one, including Satan can thwart God's purpose. (14:12-15) When I realize that purpose has always included me, I am overcome with gratitude and thanksgiving.

Do you have gratitude in your heart? Are you able to thank God that his purpose includes you in the center of it? If you've surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, you can. You can trust God to deal with you according to his mercy and not justice. And to think, His purpose will stand when everything else has collapsed around it. And here's the greatest part: no one, including Satan cando one single thing to change, divert, diminish or stop what God is doing and will do. His purpose will not only stand, but it's undeniable and unchangeable. Thank you Jesus!
