Before the years of famine came, Joseph had two sons by Asenath, daughter of Potiphera, priest from the city of On.
Gen 41:50

Blended families are not excluded from serving God.

Application
Elimelech and Naomi were Hebrew and with their two sons went to live in Moab, an alien land and culture. It was there that their sons met and married two Moabite women, one of whom was named Ruth. But after her husband and both sons died, the widow Namoi decided to go back home to Judah and with Ruth did so. Although being quite a dysfunctional family, God blessed Ruth, a Moabite, and Boaz her future Hebrew husband by being progenitors of King David and ultimately the Lord Jesus. If you think your blended family makes you unusable to God, you'd better think again!
