Jacob wouldn’t send Joseph’s brother Benjamin with the other brothers, because he was afraid that something would happen to him.
Gen 42:4

Everything we do is motivated by either fear or faith.

Application
Have you ever walked on a sidewalk trying to avoid the cracks? It's said you know, that failing to do so will break your mother's back. Growing up, most all of us have been influenced by myths and invisible monsters. But as we matured, we put away childish things, right? Not hardly. We all are subject to things we've never placed under the Lordship of Christ. Hebrews 11 lists many heroes of the faith who have one thing in common. Some of them not only faced death but many were executed, some even with their families. So, when we face a difficult situation today, may we remember them and refuse to be manipulated by fear. Instead, may we honor them by following their example and keep our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.
