There's no magic when Christians come together, just a simple promise with magnificent potential.
Application
They all planned to return to normal after his death. While travelling as a band of believers with Jesus, it was common practice to gather around and and hear his words of encouragement, but with him dead and buried, who would comfort them now? There was no succession of leadership within the group although most thought it would be Peter the Rock. But with him in such a deep state of depression, hope is all but vanished. Where would they go anyway as the people who killed Jesus wanted them dead as well? Then came the morning... Could it be true? Some claimed to have seen him, but where is he if its true? With most of them gathered together in one place, Jesus appeared and encouraged them again. The disciples learned what we too often take for granted today. Strength comes from being together in the Spirit, sharing the common goal of spreading peace and encouragement in Jesus' Name and leading people to trust Him as we do.
