Look at the tears of those who suffer! No one can comfort them.
Ecc 4:1

Whoever said "Misery loves company," should stay away from a microphone.

Live it
It's common knowledge that some miserable people drag others down to their level. It's also true that some people aren't happy until they demean those they consider inferior. But for most of us, aside from being comforted by sympathetic people, find little comfort in being around people when we're miserable. The obvious exception is the man who walks into a bar in the middle of the day to get sloshed and expecting the bartender to listen to his problems and shake his head in understanding. "Can I get you another drink, sir?"
I hope I didn't associate your life with that of an alcoholic. But Solomon, the writer of Ecclesiastes was obviously speaking as one who was happy in his early days of walking with God, but at the end of his life saw it slipping away. Understnad that what happened in Solomon's life can happen to anyone. His blessing turned to expectation and his optimism to pessimism the longer he was willing to accommodate a sinful lifestyle.

Pray it
Search me O God and know my inner thoughts. See if there's any wickedness in me I need to confess. Clean me so nothing will inhibit the fellowship with You I live for.
