The crust on a fool began forming the moment he stopped listening.

Live it
When Moses walked into his court with a rod and wearing the garb of a Hebrew, Pharaoh knew this was not the same man he knew. Banished from his home for killing an Egyptian, Moses spent forty years in the desert ruling sheep and not sitting at the king's table. Now it seemed he only listened to God and followed his instruction while Pharaoh on the other hand, listened to bad counsel and made rules rather than follow them.
I'm also reminded of the prophet Samuel who visited the home of Jesse to anoint one of his son's to be king of Israel to replace Saul who stopped listening to God. Jesse paraded the oldest and most mature sons in front of Samuel who rejected them. After the last rejection, he must have questioned his understanding of God's instruction. "Tell me, do you have any other sons? Jesse affirmed they were, but discounted that a king should come from someone so young an inexperienced. Today, you might feel like an unlikely candidate to be significant to God. Or you might feel like you failed to properly raise your sons or daughters. If so, just remember, God is looking for anyone who will listen and obey his instruction, not for any educated, trained, expectant person who won't listen to him.
Pray it
If I have anything in my favor it's the fact listening seems to be the only thing I'm good at. Even as my skills diminish with age, my willingness to do what You want and go where You lead, has never been stronger. I feel I'm equipped to do whatever you ask, but if all I can do in the days ahead is spend time with You and listen, that's more than enough. Thank You very much!
