One-Minute Devotionals reveal in a single sentence, underlying truth about specific Scripture.

Each one quickly lowered his sack to the ground and opened it. Then the man made a thorough search. He began with the oldest and ended with the youngest. The cup was found in Benjamin’s sack.

When we submit ourselves to the wishes of another, we place our life in God's hands.

Live it

In my sophomore year of college I was treading water, not knowing where I was going or why. The Vietnam war was raging and only those with disability or actively attending school were exempted from being included in a military draft. So, what does a young man do after considering all is unpleasant options. Why, he takes the seemingly logical path, drops out of school and joins the Marines, of course!

I felt if I had to fight, I might as well do it for someone who recognized my independent feisty attitude. I've since found such "reasoning," although flawed, has been used by many people. One thing for certain, submission is the byword for everyday life for someone in the military chain of command. God didn't intend for me to go to war, but had other plans. What I didn't know but have since come to find out, is that God is at the top of any chain of command that man establishes. He doesn't relinquish command, even when He grants authority to someone under Him and over us.

Pray it
I honor You Lord, for You alone are Lord, and anyone I serve down here is under Your authority, whether they admit it or not. I trust where they lead me, for You are my Fortress and Refuge and never permit me to be taken where You don't go before.
