One-Minute Devotionals reveal in a single sentence, underlying truth about specific Scripture.

When Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem, he took the twelve apostles aside and said to them privately, “We’re going to Jerusalem. There the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and scribes."
Mt 20:17-18

Love is doing what you don't have to do for the sake of others who don't think it's necessary.

Live it
Yogi Berra is credited with the saying, "If you come to a fork in the road, take it!" Many of us will follow his advice today and veer off from our previous direction to go in a way we're not certain is right. We might feel there are no other viable options, or view the action as necessary for the well-being of those for whom we're responsible. However, it's a fact that most of us question why changes are even necessary.

I was just a few years old when my father lost both legs in a train mishap and he spent the remainder of his life in a wheelchair. That's bad enough, but my mom
's life was also changed radically. From that time on, where she went and what she did were adjusted to compensate for the needs of the family. During tough financial times, I don't remember either one of them ever complaining and in the end, they left a legacy that has inspired me. If there are regrets, they're mine. That's because I can't recall a time I told my mom or dad how much I respected them and appreciated their sacrifices. But I can do it right now by telling God.

Pray it
Thank you God for my parents and the examples they were to me. What You did rises far above anything we can do, but I can't think about them without thinking about you. I think that might be the greatest legacy I can leave so I ask You to keep me on track until I fulfill that mission.
