Ps 10:1

Have you considered God seems closer the more time you spend with Him?

Live it
Years ago I did an interview of a man named Acie Ford, who nightly prayed for his wife to regain her sight. His wife Marloyn had been blind since before their marriage and had not seen her husband or child until one night God answered his prayer. I was expecially interested in what that night was like. We didn't talk about all the nights his prayer was unanswered, but what it felt like to expericence an answer of such magnitude. Isn't that the way we approach prayer? It's not the time we spend with God, but what results we can expect.

As I continued my conversation with Acie, I asked him questions about his life leading up to that night. What he shared with me struck a chord in my own. He told me he found prayer to be more of an experience than a request. He said it's not about our persistent requests or eloquent speech, but being quiet and enjoying we the time we have with Him. So I say to you, "Isn't that what we do with someone we love?"

Pray it
I can never be so busy that a few moment with You doesn't make the time slow down. Doing anything less robs me of joy You want me to have. Thank You for sharing such a simple lesson. Now I ask You to always help me remember it!
