Privilege comes by association, but not necessarily power.

Live it
Is there anything a person begging on the street corner has that you want? Probably not, but what about your boss? Does he have something you desire? The answer is more than likely a resounding "Yes!" Since he probably controls promotion and pay grade, our career and lifestyle are a direct result of what he thinks of us, what he says about us and what he does or doesn't do for us. When you stop and think about it, isn't it the same way in our relationship with God? Does He have anything we want? Absolutely! Everyone wants security, comfort, ample provision and top mine off please, with a cherry on top; you know, eternal life in glory walking on streets of gold, thank you very much!

Scripture is replete with promises from God to give us what we ask for, as long as we meet certain conditions. Curiously, even with such great opportunity, what have we asked from Him today? Most people will claim to have so much seemingly unanswered prayer in their trash basket, they quit praying all together. It's also amazing to me that we can ask God to give us eternal life, but won't ask for the simplest thing today. Could it be that our lack of prayer is not frustration, but is actually disbelief, or perhaps clutching our sin that has separated us from Him. Could it be we've come to settle for hope of heaven when we die, but dare not presume to ask for anything we can do on our own? Ouch!

Pray it
My desire today is simple. I want to walk with You, know Your heart and do Your will. I want to know my life has counted for something good in Your sight and be so close to You, I won't know the difference between earth and heaven when we reach that mile marker.
