Presumption precedes assumption which is really all about self-consumption.

Live it
It's generally accepted that power is the result of advancing one's ambition on the back of other people. While it's possible for a righteous person to advance to the top, it's a rare thing indeed to find. Instead, it's more likely a trail of used and abused people line the path of someone's success. Human nature is by definition self-centered, but when we become focused on the needs of others, it is then we are most like Jesus. He has all power and never demeaned anyone. Instead He elevated everyone he met and left no one the same after the encounter.
A commercial space across the street from my office has recently hung a sign in front that reads, "The Wealthy Church". I don't even have to ask what that's about. Many religions are loosely based on what they think Jesus implied by his teaching, and not what he said. Television and radio is the hotspot of countless prosperity gospel preachers who ignore the fact Jesus spoke of sacrifice and suffering for those who would follow him. You may have been sucked into the vacuum of such false teaching, but you can make another choice today. You can choose to be like the most successful Person to have ever walked the face of the earth. Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in his wonderful face and the things of earth will grow strangley dim in the light of his glory and grace. (4).
Pray it
When I focus on You, Lord, everything becomes clearer and I realize my fleshly desires fall short of making me happy. Instead, it's times like this that make me feel at home. I desire nothing this world offers, but want to be absorbed in Your Word and doing what You want. Help me I pray, to realize this ambition more today than yesterday. Amen
