Live it
Every time I hear the account of Joseph and Potipher's wife, I wonder if she ever had the guts to show her face to him after he became Prince of Egypt? Her lies landed Joseph in prison, but he rose to the top while she sank to the bottom, losing out on great blessing because of her deceit. She probably laughed when the jail bars closed behind the man who rejected her advances. But I don't think Joseph laughed much when the people he respected lost respect for him. Neither do I think he later sought revenge when no one would have accused him if he did. Instead Joseph was meek and humble, trusting God to take care of him and those who had done him wrong.

Scripture says that God uses blessing on his people, as a means to mock those who mock us. Now, I don't know about you, but I can't ever remember the degree of mocking being as bad as it is today. You can't turn on the radio or television without someone making fun of God or Christians. By my reckoning, there're going to be a lot of blessings dished out in the days ahead for those of us who resist the temptation to hate and spitefully return the mocking of mockers.

Pray it
Give me a heart of forgiveness, I pray. Remind me that it's not me that people hate, but the gospel of Peace. There's nothing greater than seeing the repentance of a hater of God turned lover. Create that desire in all those who go by Your Name.
