God is not an equal opportunity employer, but employer of equal opportunities.

Live it
Saul of Tarsus grew up under the influence of Jewish religious leaders who had no room for a Messiah they didn't approve. He probably aspired to be like them, so he watched them closely until he felt he was ready for service. As he stood by and watched Stephen, a follower of Jesus, being stoned, he decided to take action and his aspiration became a profession. I'm sure there wasn't an ad on the Synagogue bulletin board for someone to find and persecute followers of Jesus, but that's the position Saul created for himself. He honestly felt as if he was helping God clean house. But when he encountered Jesus on the road to Damascus, Saul's life took a sharp turn.
We know that it was his character to be proactive, but it took God's intervention to point him in the right direction. Where once he stood against believers, now he stood with them, something the believers found hard to believe. Regardless, Saul, soon to be known as Paul, would now be opposed by most everyone he met, including the religious community he once embraced. What I learn from Paul's life is that God accepts me without precondition, as long as I am willing to obey him. And when I do, he'll supercharge my natural abilities to do supernatural things - all for his glory!
Pray it
Forgive me for sometime diminishing the value of Your calling. We all come by different route, with differing gifts to accomplish different things, but every calling is parallel and worthy of merit if done in Jesus Name and for Your glory. Thank you that it is You who calls me and not men.
