The atheist can't blame God for anything, but he'd like to.

Live it
A friend recently called my wife and me and asked us to pray for her as she was attending a funeral for a young child of an athestist acquaintance. The child was behind the family automobile when her father accidently backed up and rolled over him. I'm not sure, but that may be the worse thing that can happen to a parent. Our friend didn't know how to encourage the family, and even worse, how to pray. I believe heaven is filled with children who have died under the age of accountability. That is, they never knew what sin was, therefore couldn't know they needed a Savior. What encouragement can a Christian give to someone grieving without expressing hope in a God they believe doesn't exist? Answer: You can't! But could it be that most professing atheists actually believe there's a God, but chose not to face him, but to show him contempt from afar?
Pray it
My heart goes out to any parent who has to deal with the death of a child. But I rejoice in knowing there's hope beyond this worldly existence. Scripture says Jesus rebuked anyone from restraining a child from approaching him.
It's understandable then, that you love the little children of the world, but it never ceases to amaze me that you love me.
