One-Minute Devotionals reveal in a single sentence, underlying truth about specific Scripture.

Daydreaming comes when there are too many worries.
Ecc 5:3a

PREV  -  NEXT

You won't daydream while you're praying.

Live it
The human brain is a computer of sorts, but far more powerful than any machine constructed by man. Unlike a computer processor that only operates when the power is turned on, the brain is always at work, even when at rest. Men only aspire to build a computer with artificial intelligence, while the brain is the real thing, not manufactured and not artificial. Unlike a machine, the brain only uses a very small percentage of its potential while all computers operate on temporary memory executing binary code composed of many strings of ones and zeroes and manipulated by a programmer.

The Bible says we are made in God's image, leading to the logical conclusion that our brain is fashioned after a heavenly model. We're not programmed, but control what goes in and out of our brain through sensory perception. The only one who controls our brain is us, not God. That's why one person uses his thought process to serve man and another to abuse him, one to ponder evil and another to pray. So, now that we know we have all this processing power on board, what instructions will we give our brain?

Pray it
I'm amazed when I consider how You made me, and ashamed of how I fail to act in a way that proves my gratitude. Train me to do the things I should and avoid doing the things I shouldn't.
