One-Minute Devotionals reveal in a single sentence, underlying truth about specific Scripture.

As they were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed Jesus.
Mt 20:29

PREV  -  NEXT

People still follow the Gospel just like they did Jesus.

Live it
In a sense, all men are followers by nature. We're either led astray by the bad influence of our peers or strongly influenced by the lifestyle of someone of strong character we admire. That can be a good or bad thing however, for there is only one influence that should shape our lives and his name is Jesus. When he walked the earth, people were attracted to his demeanor, mesmerized by his teaching, amazed by his miracles and astounded by the authority by which he did it.

I doubt Jesus will ever be on the cover of Time as the most influential person of the year, much less in history, but that doesn't mean it's not true. I know this to be factual because no one could have done in me what he's done, or changed my resolve to follow and be like him. The good news is if he can do it in me, he can do it in anyone. This is called the Gospel message and will be preached to millions of people today. But the really good news is that regardless of the distraction, people will receive it with joy and follow Jesus - not just in this life but into the next. This leads me to conclude there are but two types of people in the world, winners, a.k.a., followers of Jesus, and losers, those who won't.

Pray it
Thank you for walking by me and allowing me to walk with you, Lord Jesus. There are no words I can say that express my gratitude, but perhaps we can walk by someone who needs to hear the good news and they can join us.
