One-Minute Devotionals reveal in a single sentence, underlying truth about specific Scripture.

Jesus felt sorry for them, so he touched their eyes. Their sight was restored at once, and they followed him.

Sympathy is meaningless without ministry.

Live it
You've seen them standing on the street corner holding a cardboard sign asking for work, food or money, the later being preferred. The fact that the same people show up everyday at the same time and place proving that begging is their vocation and the street corner their workplace. You've probably noticed people handing one of these people something through their car window. For some it's money or water, for others it might be food and then there are some who offer 30 second spiritual help. They're called homeless because their home is the street. One thing that's obvious about them is the fact they're not seeking what they profess and how to truly help them is unclear.

I've daydreamed since youth of being invisible and able to know what people need, with the ability to meet it, regardless of what it is, anonymously. To some, my gift would be healing, others a job, and to some simply shouldering their financial burden. Can you imagine walking through the hospital healing people and fixing what's broken in relationships? In my dreams, everyone gives thanks to God and begins to follow him, if they're not already doing so. Well, it's a nice dream, but we all know most people would not welcome such a gift. That's because what keeps most people down and out is an unwillingness to walk away from the thing that has them down and out. The sad fact is that they're hopelessly bound in chains of their own making because they don't think they need help, just money. But, I'm fairly certain I'm not referring to you.

Pray it
It maybe constructed of cardboard, but my needs list has all been met and surpassed by you, Lord. Still, I confess to desire things I don't need and need things you've already provided. Help me know how to use the resourses already given me and opportunity to help others do the same.
