When God blesses, He means for us to do something with it.

Live it
We're rapidly approaching the first day of a new year and it's natural to speak of resolutions. In fact, the subject was brought up yesterday in church when we were encouraged to share our new year resolution with someone else. One person greeted me, shook my hand and held on waiting for me to reveal some great truth. But we both laughed as I shook my head from side to side and said, "Sorry, got nothing!" I think all the food eaten the previous few days clogged up my brain to the point I couldn't think. Everyone who has ever made a resolution has soon lost their passion to keep it, but it's still good to think of doing something good that we normally neglect.
Now that I've had time to consider a proper resolution, I chose Ephesians 1:17. Next year, my resolution is to know God better. I heard that sigh. Come on, don't you want to know God better? Of course you do, you just don't want to admit it. You think God will expect you to do something you don't want to do. Go ahead and admit it; confession is good for the soul. Well, look at verses 16 and 17 to learn Paul's plan to meet his resolution. "I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers." The secret friend, is to pray all the time for everyone else to know God better and what we pray for them will be our's in abundant proportion. This year, lets' pray all the time, about everything with all kinds of prayer and never stop!
Pray it
What sometimes seems like a burden is actually relief. So it is with intercessory prayer. You, have filled what was empty within me, Lord. No one cares for me like You do, and no one but You really cares what I do. Help me then, do a better job at doing what You've equipped me to do. And may all my brothers and sisters share my desire.
