When it comes to people and their possessions, it's questionable who possesses who.

Live it
My grandson recently came home from shopping with his mom, proudly wearing jeans that were ragged, torn and faded. Expecting to hear they shopped at a second hand outlet, I was surprised to learn the store was in the mall. By reputation I know that store is popular among the youth, offering only the most desirable and expensive clothes with their logo stamped so others might know where they bought it. Now, I realize every generation creates a trend in clothing and speech, but come on! We're the richest nation in the world (rapidly diminishing truism). Is that the best you can do?
America, the land of the free, the home of the brave. For people who don't live here, it's the land of opportunity and to those who do, it's home sweet home. Even with all her problems, who wouldn't want to live here? For a nation founded by godly men and women of virtue we have experienced God's abundant blessing for now over 200 years. But these days, it seems the popular thing to do is to apologize for our success and prosperity to godless nations who don't have either. The popular thing to do is to act poor, renounce anything that prospers you, undo anything that makes you successful and criticize those who refuse to do the same. It seems the American tradition of "Keeping up with the Joneses," has become, "Acting poorer than the Joneses." Who knows, if we keep doing what we're doing, our pretense may become reality.
Pray it
Thank you, Father for your provision. There is not one need I have that You haven't supplied. There is not one godly desire You haven't helped me achieve. Job was tested to prove his love for You wasn't provisional. He passed and I pray I will too.
