What do you think about this? A man had two sons. He went to the first and said, "Son, go to work in the vineyard today." His son replied, "I don’t want to!" But later he changed his mind and went.

One-Minute Devotionals reveal in a single sentence, underlying truth about specific Scripture.

True obedience is immediate joyful compliance.

Live it
Like most husbands, my wife helps me remember things and I try to return the favor when I can. The other morning as I prepared to go to work, I could hardly get out the door for the plastic bag of garbage blocking my way. As I picked it up, I remembered it was the day for trash collection. So, I took the bag to the container and then rolled it to the street. No one verbally reminded me the night before or placed a note on the front door knob. The trash was there so I did what I always do. No big deal, right?

When I got home from work that night, I was amazed to hear my wife and daughter question how the container got to the street and wonder what happened to the trash bag that was there the night before. They knew they hadn't asked me to do it and it was totally uncharacteristic for the two teenagers in the house to do anything unless threatened. "Who do you think did it," I asked, while smiling at their confusion. Well, you'd thought I was deserving of a prize or something, as they praised me for taking out the trash. What they may not realize is that everything I do, I aspire to do to the best of my ability and with joy for simply having the opportunity. Big or small, hard or easy, it doesn't matter when done in the right spirit, without delay and with a song in your heart. Having said that, I going into the shop to burn my hand and breathe in metal dust and welding fumes. Hallelujah!

Pray it
Nothing is dreadful except things made more difficult by procrastination and neglect. Even then, you take the dread away when I think of what Jesus did for me when he didn't have to do it. Thank You for reminding me again today.
