One-Minute Devotionals reveal in a single sentence, underlying truth about specific Scripture.

You have made him rule what your hands created. You have put everything under his control: all the sheep and cattle, the wild animals, the birds, the fish, whatever swims in the currents of the seas.
Ps 8:6-8

Live it
On April 20, 2010, an oil rig, named Deepwater Horizon, exploded and has since released thousands of barrels of crude oil into the ocean. If you're one of the few who still listen to broadcast news, you might be getting a little nervous, especially if you believe what they say. But, have you forgotten that what's leaking into the ocean is a natural resource of our planet? Companies who pump for oil are simply making a way for what's under the ocean floor to come up. When it does, they trap it and send it off for refining so it can be used to power your automobile among other things. Oil that naturally leaks into the ocean has been handled by the ocean from the beginning of time, without man noticing or helping. But those who caused this mess should clean it up.

In truth we're paying a price for a game of political correctness gone awry. This U.S. President gave British Petroleum the right to drill so far offshore and so deep that his friendly environmentalists considered the chances of success unlikely. Similarly those on the other side of the issue were encouraged to see our country pursue any type of oil independence from nations that wish us ill will. But what has since become evident is that the "out of sight - out of mind" governing method only works until the consequences of your bad decision wash up on shore. Then it's time for the blame game, an art this administration has perfected.
